Balloting:

Case Studies

Don't Just Take Our Word for it

Unite the Union

Running ballots for Central Arbitration Committee (CAC) and Unite the Union (membership 1.2 million). This involved balloting using a variety of different methods and running a helpdesk for voter queries.

Every CAC ballot has a strict timetable attached – we ensured proofs of ballot were returned to the client within 24 hours. Unite appreciated the attention to detail and the ability to handle data sets securely and confidentially. The hand-counting process for this election was performed quickly and certified as efficient and accurate.

RMT Union

The CAC advised the National Union of Rail, Maritime & Transport Workers (RMT) (membership 81,000) to engage our services to run and scrutinise an awareness campaign to promote clarification on specific points surrounding employee ‘bargaining units’, which required extensive data cleansing of the member lists. A challenging but important and rewarding engagement.

Boots Pharmacists Association

Between 2014-2018 there was a dispute between the Boots Pharmacists Association (BPA) and Pharmacists’ Defence Association Union (PDAU) – the official representative body for purposes of collective bargaining for Boots Pharmacists. We worked with the PDA, BPA, and CAC to resolve the recent question for trade union recognition.

CAC employed us to run a fair and efficient ballot: Distributing ballots by post, including a prepaid return envelope with each.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead.
