Standing for Reform UK
The most digital of all the parties, Reform quickly organised a direct application process to triage the significant influx of enquiries for councilor and mayoral elections in 2025. It is now formalising its process for parliamentary candidates.
Reform’s constitution provides for the creation of an ‘Approved List’. To gain a place on this list, you must be a member of Reform, you will need to submit yourself to vetting and prove your eligibility to stand very early in the process (proof of passport, proof of electoral roll address, and DBS checks).
The first stage is a deep digital vetting process. It is clear Reform is the most advanced of the parties in using digital vetting to review every candidate’s online footprint. Our pre-emptive digital sweep can assist you with a detailed review of your online presence before you apply.
This is likely to be followed by a digital interview with a selection committee, after taking detailed references. The selection committee will ask a series of competence and personality questions. College Green Group has prepared hundreds of candidates for this type of ‘competency-based’ assessment process. We work with you to ensure you can show the very best of yourself to the assessors when it matters.
With Reform riding high in the polls, winning a raft of council seats and of course the two mayoral contests in May 2025 many people are now positioning themselves in constituencies to have the best chance to secure selection.
Reform has not yet set out the rules for specific seat selections, but this is likely to be driven by constituency members. We can conduct seat-specific research and help you craft your application for your preferred seats. Should you progress to the later stages, we can help you write your speech, deliver it and we can prepare you for the final stages where the members get to choose who stands.
